School Meals

At Ursula Taylor C of E School we are supported by a catering company 'Caterlink' to provide our school lunches. We buy this service from Bedford Borough Council.

The school meals are free to all children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 through the Government 'Universal Infant Free School Meals' initiative which began in September 2014.

Children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6  are invited to have school lunches, at a cost of £2.18 per day for Y3 and £2.28 per day for Y4, 5 and 6 (This is a little more as they get a larger portion)

Costs for meals are as follows:
Year 3 £2.18 per day per child
Year 4/5/6 £2.28 per day per child

The Kitchen team can be flexible to which days your children have their lunches. e.g. some children choose to have school meals only on a Friday.

We encourage all parents to look at the 'Free School Meals' criteria to see if they may qualify. If they do, we are able to receive 'Pupil Premium' funding of £1300 (£1320 in September 2105) for each child to provide intervention, support and extra experiences with which to increase the amount of academic progress children make, and also 'remove any barriers to education' that may be relevant.

If you are unsure if you meet the criteria for FSM - Please see Miss Daley in the School Office, who will be very happy to talk you through the process and provide you with the relevant information and application form.

All dinner money must be paid in advance and through the Caterlink Online payment system. All children in the school have been issued with a log in code and instructions about how to register. If you need any help with this, please contact out Office Team who will be able to help.
